The Pushing Daisies series premiere may have just aired this week… but we’re so excited about this show that we can’t wait to talk about Wednesday’s new episode!
It’s entitled “Dummy” and previous Pushing Daisies spoilers on the site explained its plot in-depth. Check out that page now.
Meanwhile, here’s a fun picture from the episode. Wonder what Ned and Chuck are up to…

What’s our favorite part of Pushing Daisies so far?
Aside from the dynamite casting, unique look of the show and overall mix of romance, humor and mystery?
Gotta be the episode titles. The first offering - which is just a week away! - is called “Pie-lette.” That’s pure genius. Here’s a look at the first eleven names:
Pie-letteHow can you not get excited about a series with episode titles such as these?!?
Based on the opening scene of the Pushing Daisies premiere, we know things don’t go so well for Ned’s dog, Digby.
Below, though, is a screen cap of Ned and his best friend before tragedy strikes.
Fast forward the Pie-lette, and Ned is a lot older. He’s also fixated on a strawberry:

In earlier Pushing Daisies spoilers, we took you inside episode two.
Now, here are a couple pictures from the hour entitled “Dummy,” courtesy of Pushing-Daisies.com.
Chuck (Anna Friel) and Ned (Lee Pace) are on the case!
Ned and Emerson (Chi McBride) appear to be visiting someone in a hospital.
Previous Pushing Daisies spoilers have taken you inside episodes two and three.
So it’s time for episode four, “Pigeons.” During this upcoming hour…
- Jayma Mays (from Heroes, pictured below) will guest star as Elsita, a woman who lives and works in a windmill.
- Emerson, Ned and Chuck (Anna Friel) take on a case of stolen jewelry, while also solving a murder/suicide. They also find out about a missing prisoner who may play a role further down the line.
Previously, our Pushing Daisies spoiler section took a close look at episode two, “Dummy.”
Along the same lines, here are a few details on episode three of the upcoming season, entitled “The Fun in Funeral.” Read on if you wish to learn more:
The aunts (played by Swoosie Kurtz and Ellen Greene, pictured) will be folded back into the story during this hour. Here’s how: Chuck follows through with the threat she made in the pilot by baking anti-depressants into her aunts’ food (i.e. Ned’s pies).
Olive (Kristin Chenoweth) delivers one of these treats to the sisters and stumbles upon Chuck’s plan. This provides Ms. Snook with dirt on Chuck - because her aunts think she’s dead - so the question becomes: will Olive use it against her nemesis to lure in Ned?
Also, Ned and Chuck speak to a dead man named Donald Funk, who worked at the same funeral parlor as Lawrence Schatz, the man they find out died one minute after Ned brought Chuck back to life.
Donald and Lawrence acted together in stealing flowers from graves and jewelry from the bodies of clients of the funeral home.
Pushing Daisies may not premiere on ABC until October 3… but you can watch a snippet from the pilot now.
Sorry, we mean the Pie-lette.
Here’s the opening sequence of the episode:
As Pushing Daisies moves along, fans might get annoyed by one tidbit: Will Ned and Chuck truly never kiss?
Considering the fact that any re-touching of his deceased love will cause her to die, it seems reasonable to assume that this will be a never-ending, possibly-annoying story line on the show, right?
Not entirely, claim creator Bryan Fuller and star Lee Pace.
They gave The Chicago Sun-Times a brief glimpse into one Pushing Daisies spoiler: how will these two lovers ever connect?
Fuller does say he’s “steering right into” the unrequited love frustration: “We’re doing an episode that’s a procedural,” he told the newspaper, “with dog breeders. So Chuck and Ned are surrounded with sex.”
But they won’t be able to actually have any themselves, right? Pace points to episodes that will see the couple using unsexy “prophylactics,” such as when they kiss covered in Saran Wrap or wearing protective suits.
Like bear suits?
“I don’t think we’ll get that kinky,” Pace said.
“Them dancing in bee suits, with bees swarming around them, is more our speed,” Fuller said.
We know, we know: the Pushing Daisies season premiere hasn’t even aired yet.
So how can we have insight into the show’s second episode? We’re just that good.
Therefore, consider this your Pushing Daisies spoiler alert, as we briefly summarize the events in “Dummy:”
Ned revives Bernard Slaybaugh, an auto safety specialist who was murdered. While Bernard doesn’t know who killed him, he does know he wants Ned and Chuck to tell a woman (Jeanine) that he loved her.The police are offering a reward to anyone who can find the killer; so, naturally, Emerson wants answers in order to get the reward.
Chuck asks the wrong questions of the (formerly) dead victim, nearly running out the clock on how long they can keep him alive, but the trio manages to get the information they need in time. With the assistance of Ned, the victim reveals that ia crash test dummy is responsible for his death.
