Anna Friel Photos Show Sexy Side of Chuck

As Chuck on Pushing Daisies, Anna Friel is adorable.

But viewers don't really see the sexy side of this British actress too often on the show. At least not like they do in the following couple photos:

An Interview with Pushing Daisies Composer, James Dooley

Fans can't get enough of Pushing Daisies quotes, photos, visual effects and so much more from the most original show on TV.

But another popular aspect of the series is its unique score. And composer James Dooley recently gave an interview talking about the music behind Pushing Daisies.

Q: Pushing Daisies is quite entertaining on a lot of different levels and your score has a lot to do with that. The feeling that I get when I watch and listen, is that there is a Tim Burton slash Danny Elfman vibe to it. Is that kind of a starting point that you had or is that coincidental?
James Dooley: Actually, it's not. It's funny. That sound is not really close to what we were going for. I've heard the Elfman comment a lot though and I do understand why people come to that conclusion but it was never intended to be that.

Q: How would you describe the differences of your show/score?
Dooley: I'd say one of the differences is because the love themes are French with accordions and harpsichords. It's also different in the editing - it's in the style of the traditional French themes. The music for the show is based on these ideas, which Danny (Elfman) doesn't really do. Still, if you put a boys' choir on top of that type of music, it's suddenly sounds like Danny.

We were going for more of an Amelie type of sound, which is a "wide-angled," adult-fairytale, with a narrator and this super-real world. The more you look at it, the less similarities there are with a Danny Elfman type of score. There was never any Danny Elfman music used to temp the show or anything like that. All that said, I take it as an honor for such a comparison to be made.

Pushing Daisies Ratings: Wins Timeslot, Halloween Scares Away Viewers

Pushing Daisies won the 8 p.m. hour last night, but its 8.58 million viewers and a 2.6 rating/8 share among adults 18-49 was a series-low for the critically acclaimed drama.

Expect DVR numbers to be higher than ever, however, considering it was Halloween night.

Trick or Treat!

For comparison's sake, this was a decrease of 1.09 million viewers and 19 percent among adults 18-49 from one week earlier.

Pushing Daisies Spoilers: Bryan Fuller Speaks!

285pushingdaisiesfuller102807.jpg Many, many thanks to Kristin from E! Online for the following coup: she tracked down Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller and asked him to personally answer a few questions from fans.

Here are a few samples, full of helpful Pushing Daisies spoilers from the man behind our favorite new show...

Q: Will Paul Reubens be back on Pushing Daisies? I know they recast his original role, but I'm hoping he will show up on the series later on. He's great.
Bryan Fuller: Paul is back on the set this week, and he's fantastic. The crew loves him, and he keeps everything light and easy. We introduce Paul's character in the seventh episode to air, and you'll see a lot more of him in the back nine episodes.

Q: Kristin Chenoweth and Ellen Greene singing "Birdhouse in Your Soul" was my favorite part of this week's Pushing Daisies. Any chance we'll get some more singing in upcoming episodes?
B.F.: I'm so glad you like our minimusical numbers. The next time we have singing will be in an episode called "Smell of Success" that I believe airs in November and features Ellen Greene covering Cat Stevens.

Q: I love, love, love Lee Pace and Pushing Daisies. But I am a teensy bit confused. Does the show take place back in the day or is it just quirky like that? I adore this show and am sooo glad it got picked up for a whole season!
B.F.: We exist in Pushing Daisies time, which is essentially now with a caveat or two. We want the show to have a timeless quality to maintain the fairy-tale feel, which is why you'll see cars from the '60s and '70s mixed in with modern-day jobbies like the Prius.

Q: Does Chuck's touch not count when she touches Ned's clothes? My heart just about stopped when I saw her touching his clothes.
B.F.: The touch thing has to be flesh to flesh. So, Chuck can hold Ned's hand or dance with him or even kiss him as long as there is some kind of barrier preventing their skin from connecting.

Pushing Daisies Lookalike: Anna Friel and Evangeline Lily

For fans of Pushing Daisies, the question isn't whether or not Anna Friel is adorable; it's more an issue of how adorable this British actress is in the role of Chuck.

Take a look below, though, and see how closely Friel resembles another star from an ABC series, Lost.

Lookalikes

Anna Friel and Evangeline Lily are both beautiful stars from popular ABC shows.
