The Pie-Maker and the PI

I just thought I'd share this recent brainwave with you lovely fans of this amazing show. I'm pretty sure that I'm not the first to notice this neat detail, so should this post be obsolete, I apologize.

However, its pretty cool how Ned, the pie-maker, is business partners with the PI (like pi, the greek letter). I just love how this show has all these neat and subtle details. Its just way to perfect.

I'm curious as to how the P.I. came to know of the PieMaker's abilities.  Either

I missed it when they went over this point -- or it just hasen't been addressed

    yer?

They showed a cutback to when Ned and Emerson first met. Emerson was chasing a criminal who fell out of a window, hit a dumpster, died, fell onto Ned, came back to life, started running again, then Ned ran and touched him on the shoulder, killing him again.

    Which is how they met.

I think that's what happened anyway, it's been a while.

Yes, thats exactly what happened! Emerson was on a rooftop looking down at Ned touching the criminal. So, in return for keeping it a secret Emerson decided to make a deal with Ned. This show is outstanding! It makes me really want to pick up acting again...it seems so fun and quirky, just the kind of show I would enjoy being a part of!

I hadn't thought about the pie-maker and the PI angle!  That's fabulous.  As I've rewatched the episodes online, I'm picking up new puns and hidden bits all the time but thanks for pointing that one out.  I personally love the transition in "Funeral" when there's a close-up of Ned's eye and the narrator says something about him realizing the "IRONY [eye-rony??]" of the moment.  Not sure if that was intentional or not.

Emerson: That thing should have said, "If this van's a-rockin', I'm being murdered."
